My Personal & Design Goals for 2018

Hello everyone! Are you as excited about 2018 as I am?

In the spirit of being rejuvenated and reset (and having some holiday time to relax), I have 5 new goals for myself, and I'd like to share them with you. We all should have the basic goals of being happy, thinking positive, and trying our best, but to be a bit more specific, I would like to focus on these 5 goals...

Share More Personal Designs
If you've been following on social media, you'll know I don't share too many designs I create. So far, I've always kept my work on my portfolio page, and concentrated on a "design lifestyle" to show you. This year I'll be sharing more designs with you, because really, isn't graphic design my thing? :)

Slow Down (A Bit)
Having a go-getter, passionate personality has always allowed me to strive professionally, but personally I've come to realize I've missed a few things. Career, work and design have always been my #1, but now in my 30s, I'm actually acknowledging I'd like to slow down a bit. I'd like to take more time for friends, more time for appreciating the little things, and stay more present (and positive). I've never been great at any of this, so now is the time to work on it.

Travel More
Throughout my twenties, I traveled everywhere. You could generally find me in London, or traveling around Europe, and I so miss it. I moved back to the states when I was 26 and started full time working (as you do), and began traveling less. In 2017, I think I traveled to...nowhere. Yikes! So this year, I'm jump starting my travel bug, and started the year in London. Next month I have a trip planned to visit New Orleans for the first time. If you have any travel suggestions, make sure to comment to let me know!

I'm so bad at reading. I blame social media. I'll read 5 pages, and need to jump on Instagram. How horrible is this! In December, it took me about a week to get through Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine (highly recommend this book), and I need to keep with it, and stop checking my phone so much.

Believe in Magic
I believe in logic. Things that make sense. But this way of thinking has forced me to overthink basically everything in my life, and that isn't always a good thing. So in 2018, I promise to believe in magic, to take more chances, and have more fun. And try to overthink a bit less, because what's the fun in that?

Share with me your personal goals for the new year below, or on Instagram. I'd like to know what you're thinking as may inspire me to add to my list!
